29 November 2018

My Teddy Bear season is nearly over!

The Christmas Craft Fair in Goring at the weekend was very successful. Not many Teddies came back home afterwards)))

Saying good-bye to a Teddy is always a little bit sad, but on the other hand I am pretty sure that they will all be happy in their new homes.

This year, I was happy to meet again some of my customers from last year - they popped in to tell me how their adopted Teddies were getting on.

As always, it was very nice to meet old friends and make quite a few new ones. As I keep saying, it is only nice people who come to a stall with Teddies))) It is a good test, isn't it? )))

Elijah
My two latest Teddies are ready to go with me to the Goring Christmas Craft Fair this Saturday.
Please join us there, and take a moment to come and say hello!

Elijah (on the left) is rather shy and bashful. He speaks in such a small voice that you can never be quite sure what he is saying..

In contrast, Freddie (on the right) is anything but shy.
He is a practical joker who is very good at telling fibs, looking at you all the while with those honest eyes of his...

The new addition to my merry band of Teddies, Adam, has an uncanny resemblance to... Paddington.
When asked about it, he points out that he is actually much fitter that his food friend P)))
Adam is dependable, bold and resourseful, always gets things done, but also likes a good laugh.
His only weakness is his singular attachment to his nice woollen scarf)))

10 November
Evie I would now like to introduce another girl bear - Evie.

She dreams of ballet dancing, and always wears her tutu, wherever she goes.

Evie may be rather clumsy and a little bit bow-legged, but what does it matter when she has such a beautiful dream!

My latest Teddy is a girl!
Sophie is a serious little bear with an inquiring mind. She likes to observe things and try to work out why they are the way they are.
I am sure she will enjoy our upcoming trip to the Christmas fair, where she will see lots of objects and people she has never seen before.

Louis Two more new Teddies are ready to join me at this year's Christmas fair.

On the left you see Louis. A bear of sensitive disposition, he feels most at home among plants and rocks. It is rumoured that he is writing poetry, but I have not yet seen his work
.

On the right, please welcome Harvey. He does not mind being mocked for his unusual dress sense. He knows that his best friend, Elwood the Giant Rabbit, is always there for him.

5 November

With the Christmas fair coming up, I have now made a few new Teddy bears, who will be going there with me this year.
Today I would like to introduce two of them. Reggie, a winter sports enthusiast, is eagerly waiting for snow so that he can practise riding his sleigh.
Meanwhile Finley has a passion for puzzles, so he does not really mind what the weather is - though he insists that he also quite likes climbing trees...

New unfinished Teddy for the Christmas Fair
As you can see here, the preparations have begun in earnest for this year's Christmas Craft Fair in Goring!

The event will take place in the Goring Village hall on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th November, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

My stall number is 16, in the Main Hall.

Please come to say hello to me and hug my Teddies. They do love to be hugged!

If there is a Teddy Bear heaven, this,
I am sure, is what it looks like!

As a follow-up to last month's story, here I am pleased to share the photo of Georgiy, his happy new owner, and the owner's mum.

Sima I am extremely proud to introduce this very special little Teddy - even though I did not make it)))

It was made by the close-knit team of three of my younger children. I have to mention that all of them are no kids anymore but adults or near adults)))

The decision to make the Teddy was quite spontaneous but it did not take them too long to complete it - just one full day and two sleepless nights.

All I had to do was tie a little bow around the Teddy's neck (unfortunately, you cannot see it on the photo).

It was a common decision that the Teddy was definitely a girl, and she was then named Sima, after our much loved dog, to which she does bear))) some resemblance.

31 July

Georgiy by the window My new Teddy, called Georgiy (which is Russian for George), was made to order - to mark the birthday of one very nice little boy.

He is soon going to Moscow with me, where the two of them will meet for the first time.

I believe Georgiy will become a good and dependable friend to the boy.

He seems to be a calm and sensible Teddy, and I can see that he is ready for all the adventures to come, as the two of them grow up together.

15 July

Funny as it may sound in midsummer, I am already looking forward to Christmas!
I have booked a stall at my favourite Christmas market. My Teddies and I will once again be in the lovely village hall in beatiful Goring on the Thames on 24-25 November.
I hope I will see my old friends at the fair, and make new friends too.

Ted on arrival in hospital Another patient has checked out of SBH (Sasha's Bear Hospital).

Made of real sheep skin, Ted was quite poorly when he arrived but I am happy to report that he made a full recovery and has now rejoined his family.

I tried to use as much of the original sheep skin as possible but some new bits had to be added to complete the job.

Despite being more than 50 years old, Ted was very fortunate to have retained his original eyes - and I believe he now looks at the world through them in much better spirits!

Before checking out, Ted posed for a selfie with some of my Teddies who had been visiting him in hospital))

24 January 2018

My Teddies welcome Kyrill on arrival Back in December, a very special Teddy came from Germany to be treated at Sasha's Teddy Bear Hospital.

His name was Kyrill, and he was rather old. He had come into his lady owner's life in November 1941.

Originally from Russia, Kyrill lived all his life in Germany and was very well loved.

I was very pleased to have him as a patient at my hospital, and he appeared to be pleased too))

Kyrill's treatment took some time, but it was worth it, and he can now look at the world with new eyes))
