A Bear family

21 December 2017

Having made quite a few small Teddies in 2017, I ended the year with a larger one - for a lovely lady in Scotland who ordered it for her newborn grandchild.

The bear is called Kai. He is 12" (30.5 cm) tall.

You may have guessed from the photo that Kai's favourite colours are red and white - as he is a keen supporter of Aberdeen FC.

Being a polar bear, Kai won't mind spending hours in the stands in the piercing wind, shouting "Come on you Dons!"

Sasha and Gor at Goring Fair With great support from my grandson)), the two Christmas Fairs that my Teddies and I went to this year have proved quite successful.

The first one was at the lovely Village Hall in Goring. The second, in the magnificent but extremely cold)) Old Barn in Ipsden.

Many thanks to everybody for coming - it was great to see my regulars and to make new friends, of course. I now have some new stories to tell, so watch this space!

I am very pleased to say that all my small Teddies happily found new homes!
I already look forward to next year's Christmas markets, so I'll keep making more Teddies.

16 November

With Christmas Fairs coming up, I have another new Teddy.
Hugo is a bear of rare intelligence, and very knowledgeable too.
He can tell you without hesitation the chemical composition of honey, or where Bearing Straits is.
Friends urge him to appear on "Beartown's Got Talent" to show how he can multiply four-digit numbers in a blink of an eye!

22 October

Sebastian in the Christmas Tree This year's Christmas Teddy is called Sebastian.

He is made of soft longpile brushable mohair with floral cotton inserts on his paws and inside ears. He is 5?" (14.5 cm) tall.

Sebastian starts preparing for his favourite holiday early.

First, he chooses presents for all his friends and relations.

Then he climbs lots of fir trees so as to find the perfect one for the day.

And then he just stays waiting by the window, so when Christmas comes, he will be the first one to know!))

9 October

Another one of October's Teddies is called Benjamin.
He is a friendly and gentle bear, but he believes that he is not brave enough. So Benjamin goes out every day, often braving terrible weather, and plucks his courage to learn to climb high walls and then jump off them.

Hurrah! My latest Teddy is a girl, which is quite rare!
Lily is a cheerful little bear who always greets you with a smile. She is the happiest if you treat her to exotic fruit, such as figs: she says they remind her of her home in faraway lands.

24 September

Three new small Teddies appeared this month.
Logan and his cat Theo with the pots Lucas in the rocking chair

The first, Logan, is very fond of cats. He has three of his own, and he calls them called Moggie, Mollie, and Moxy.
The second, Theo, is a dab paw at the potter's wheel, making all sorts of vases, mugs, plates, and of course pots. He believes his family comes from Staffordshire, and has been in the 'paw-tery' business for generations.
Finally, there is Lucas, a thoughtful little bear who is fascinated by old toys. He has quite a few, and often moves them about for hours on end, imagining all the children who once played with them and have all grown up since...

24 January

I can now unveil a Teddy I completed a month ago, as a Christmas present for a very good friend.
Please welcome Gemma, an accomplished dancer who hopes to compete soon on "Strictly Bear Dancing".
With her flowing moves and beautiful outfit, she is sure to impress Sir Bearuce, the judges and the viewers!

4 January 2017

Although I am now officially on holiday, I have already made a couple of new Teddies this year)
I would like you to meet  Ia, a gentle little bear who is not at all afraid of the cold.
This is very fortunate indeed, because Ia will live in Russia, where winters can be very severe - right now it is getting close to -30!
