As I have said before, not
all patients treated at Sasha’s
Teddy Bear
Hospital are Teddy Bears. This month, I had one who was quite
unusual. I will let the owner take up the story:
|
"I sent a request to
Sasha for 'Merrythought pensioner needing repair', and my goodness did
she rise to the challenge!
"Eeyore
was my much loved childhood toy, and has been in my care for 63 years.
He was passed down to me, so his age is unknown. Over the years he had
become so worn, he was kept in a plastic bag so as to not lose any more
of his sawdust stuffing.
"Sasha
restored him beautifully, he is now able to stand once again, and he is
liberated from life inside a plastic bag.
|
|
"It
made me cry when
I saw him after his 'makeover', he now has a new lease of life.
Thankyou Sasha, you did a wonderful job!"

Most of the patients treated at Sasha’s
Teddy Bear
Hospital over the past month have been bears, though we have
also had our first goat. I always felt a particular affinity to goats,
so it was a pleasure to have one here!

At
the beginning of this month, two freinds arrived at Sasha’s
Teddy Bear
Hospital from Derbyshire and asked to be admitted for
treatment.
Mr. Zipardy Do Dah Day, better known as Zip, explained in great detail
what sort of treatment he and his best friend, Mr. Finger Bob, required.
He also pointed out that the two of them had to be fully convalesced in
time for their planned trip to Swanage (my own favourite holiday
destination) two weeks later.
While Zip and Bob were receiving their treatment, I learnt quite a lot
about the pair of them. |
|
They
had travelled the world together, and for convenience Zip had even had
Bob included as an additional person on his passport.
The treatment went
really well, and after a week the pair of intrepid globe-trotters were
in excellent health and
ready to go back to Buxton, Derbyshire, to pack their bags for their
next trip.
23 February
Earlier this month, two
siblings
presented themselves for treatment at Sasha’s
Teddy Bear
Hospital. They were both really nice, a little worse
for wear but still full of life. I was very glad to be of assistance,
and I am sure they will continue to enjoy the company of their loving
family for years to come!

A few more happy patients
discharged from Sasha’s
Teddy Bear
Hospital recently - including a Valentine's Day special!

It was all (well, both) hands on deck at Sasha’s
Teddy Bear
Hospital today!
A patient was admitted in the morning and had to be restored to full
health the same day. This was because the Teddy's 4-year-old owner
could not face going to bed without him.
So I did my best, and I am happy to report that the Teddy made a full
recovery and went back home before his owner's bedtime.
All in a day's work, as they say))

Among the creatures
successfully treated at Sasha’s
Teddy Bear
Hospital this month, I had my first monkey, called
Christopher. There was of course a fair share of Teddies too, including
a rare blue one!
22 January
One of the patients admitted for
treatment at Sasha’s
Teddy Bear
Hospital was suffering from a rather unusual condition,
having become almost transparent (it reminded me vaguely of a character
in a film I had once seen).
The condition became even more
pronounced once the patient had all the stuffing taken out of him -
which was a necessary step on the road to recovery.
I am pleased to say
that
the patient has been restored to full health. I think you will all
agree that he looks a lot happier than he did only a few days ago. The
Teddy is now happily
reunited with his adoring owner.

Even though it has been a very busy time at Sasha’s
Teddy Bear
Hospital, I have managed to make a new Teddy this month!
George II takes after his namesake
George
(I)
in many ways, though his fur is even more luscious.
He was made to order to celebrate the birth of a baby boy, and now
lives with his adoptive family, just a few
miles away.
When we said our good-byes, I told George II that he was
always welcome to visit his friends here at my place.

Quite a few Teddies, as well as
an odd Bunny, received treatment at Sasha’s
Teddy Bear
Hospital just before and just after Christmas.
